Meeting coming up

For those of you who want to "help out but not interested in holding a Board position" THAT'S O.K.!! We have tons of opportunities - big and little. And all are just as important to us (and the student athletes!). We have a meeting scheduled for tomorrow (6/14) at 7pm in the back room of Captain Ron's. Please know that you are welcome to attend. If you're not able to come, no problem. Just email, Facebook or call me and let me know what area you might want to help in and how much time you have to give. We are a fun group :-) and the most important thing is our purpose, our goal, our mission:

"Our mission is to promote athletic excellence, positive community image, and competitive programs by providing financial assistance and support to our student athletes, coaching staffs and athletic department through our fundraising and community donation programs. "

New Officers

The new officers have been "installed". Bob Foote is our new President. All other officers continued on in their current roles. We are currently recruiting a Vice President and some great suggestions were made at the last meeting. Booster Club supporters all the teams at Sherwood High School and we really do some great things! Considering getting involved!!

Exciting Friday night game coming up!

If you don't have plans this Friday (or even if you do!) consider making the trip South with us to Thurston High School in Springfield, OR for the 3rd round playoff game. Our Football team is ranked #3 in the State and Thurston is ranked #2. It is expected to be a great matchup! Bring rain gear as it's expected to rain. It will be worth the trip though!! Sherwood travels well so we'll have lots of fun. GO BOWMEN!!!

Here's your chance! Don't do it for me - do it for the kids!

If you've been wanting to get involved with the SHS Booster Club but didn't feel like you had the time to dedicate to a board position - here's your chance! I have LOTS of opportunities for volunteers to help me with various fundraising events and promotions that are coming up. For example: Girls Night Out - I need help organizing, promoting, putting together gift bags, securing guest speaker (professional shopper from Nordstroms), secure location, etc... Men's Night Out - I need help securing a Brew Master from a local brewery and a cigar expert, secure location, organizing, promoting, putting together "manly" gift bags, etc... Football 101 - coordinate with coach, organize, put together hand-out material, secure location (probably the high school), etc... Chili Cook-off - I need help securing location (probably the high school), coordinating with contestants, promoting, securing judges, etc...

All new!

We have some new and exciting things coming up! We are planning a Ladies Night Out for February and a Men's Night Out for March (to coinicide with March Madness Sweet 16). These are different from any events that we've held in the past and I think they will be well received. Both nights will include some really nice surprises appropriate for each gender. We do need some help planning both events. You don't have to dedicate a lot of time. Many hands make light work. So even if you only have time to help with one little thing - that alone is a BIG help! Recruit a friend to help with you. The two of you can share a task. The auction was a lot of fun. Due to the economy though, we didn't make as much as we have in years past. However, we have a fun, easy and free fundraiser that we are doing right now. The businesses don't have to be local to Sherwood - they can be from another town or even another state. In order to count towards our fundraiser though, they can't be chains.
